So I got kinda obsessed with the Waterboys’ epic pop jam, “Whole of the Moon” and decided I should probably just learn the song and cover it to get it out of my system. So there ya have it, a little free download from camp CDE.
We are still hammering away at new songs and sounds and directions trying to figure out what our debut album will be like, we are excited about a lot of the new tunes and ideas and can’t wait to share them with you this year.
In other news I will be moving to New York next month, so the album will be recorded hella bi-coastal style. But that means the current live status of the band is currently up in the air and TBD later this year. Happy New Year and never surrender. -Joe & CDE

So we are taking a break from playing live to actually make an album. We don’t know when it will be done. We do know that we are going to put everything we have into the songs.

In the mean time however we decided to schedule a visit for the first time to Tacoma as a part of the Broadway Arts Free for All. As it states it’s free and we will be there Sunday October 9th amidst many other great acts.

Live on Kexp!

This Saturday at 8pm we will be performing live on those waves that are continually running through our brains. If you turn the dial of your radio to 90.3 FM at 8pm it just may turn into something magical. If you don’t have a radio you can listen online at KEXP.org We are going to be play 3 new songs which will be recorded on our next release. Also tune in earlier at 6pm to hear another great local dance band Sports

Also we have a big show happening on July 8th at Columbia City Theater . It’s our first headlining show and we can’t be more excited. One of the reasons is our great friend The Fascination Movement will be playing. They make some of the best electronic synth dance music in Seattle. Plus Josh lends a hand playing synths for them. Also joining us is two bands from Phoenix, AZ The Whisperlights and Underground Cities. It’s going to be a great night of pop music.

Wild Rose, High Dive & Writing

Hello there, beautiful sexy people of the internet. Just wanted to let you know we have a couple shows coming up in Seattle this month. First with our very talented and lovely pals, SPORTS, who have just released a most excellent debut album, we highly suggest checking it out. We’ll be performing together as a part of ‘Brush Off’ at the Wild Rose Saturday May 14th. For more details click here.

Secondly, we’ll be playing as part of Nada Mucho’s ‘4 on the Floor’ series at the High Dive in Fremont, Wednesday May 18th. Hopefully you can make it out to one or the other!

Lastly, we’re currently writing and in the planning stages of a new EP that we hope to have out this summer! Working on special project with our pals Pickwick and also working on some new remixes and lots more fun stuff, so stay tuned! See you soon, ♥ Cd’E

CdE is in Season!

1st off lets mention something we have been anticipating for months. We are playing a show on Friday March 25th at the Tractor Tavern with our good friends in Boat & Pickwick. There are several reasons this show will be special. First up is that it’s Boat’s Cd Release Show however it’s also Pickwick’s 7in Release! We are playing a few new tunes but we are also doing a cover swap with Pickwick. You will get to hear CdE play a Pickwick song and vice versa. Word on the street is that the show will sell out, if you’re planning on coming we encourage buying your tickets here asap!

CdE has been busy. Real Busy. Josh created a slick remix of Kings by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and consequently performed the track live at their 3 Sold Out Showbox shows. He has also performed with Mash Hall. Joe busted out the great Pickwick remix of “The Round.” CdE has even managed to write two more new songs.

It’s only getting more fun though. We have 6 shows in the next 3 months. Look for dates at The Crocodile, Neumos, High Dive, and The Wild Rose.

We have tons of special treats in creation for all of our shows making each show unique.

Hope you can join as at the gorgeously jaw dropping Columbia City Theater next weekend! The only other show we have on the books for ‘11 right now is in March, so it may be the last time to catch us for a while! We’ll be sharing the stage with Viper Creek Club, Katie Kate and the Tea Cozies.

New Years Eve 2010!

No set plans for New Years Eve? Yeah that’s usually how it goes…except this year!

CdE is performing live at The Crocodile December 31st to ring in the New Year with local greats Head Like a Kite and Fresh Espresso. I can’t think of a much better show to party it up on this NYE than this one. We are really really excited for this one.

We don’t play a show without adding something special too…So expect another famous CdE cover.

Did anyone make it out to our Christmas show? How about that Wham! cover sung by the great Michael Dunford and those candy cane lights. CdE brings it every show. If we find some good video we will make sure to post it.

Our brand new EP is officially out! You can purchase the digital version over at bandcamp for 4 bucks and we’ll be selling the cd’s at the upcoming shows. For you out of towners that would prefer the cd over the mp3’s (and we don’t blame you, the foil stamped covers came out amazing!) you can just drop us a email or facebook message and we’ll get one in the mail for ya.

EP Release Show!

Hey all you fine young handsome devils out there. Get your planners out and scratch off whatever lame thing you had in there for Saturday November 20th and scribble in this sweet sweet show we are bringing to you. We will be playing at the LoFi performance gallery with local hip hop act OCnotes, and making the journey up from Tacoma will be the fabulous Nightgowns and our good friends Heaters will be spinning fine tunes all through the night. Last but not least, we will be selling our brand new 4 song cd at the show! We’re currently finishing up the mixes and getting ready for mastering as well as working with some printers to get a fancy letterpress foil stamped cover sleeve produced for the first pressing! We just got word that will be opening a show at the Crocodile in Seattle on October 18th for Hundred in the Hands from Brooklyn. We have been fans of this band for a little while now and are extremely excited to get the chance to open their show.
